1. Booking company and carrier
Your booking is made with IBC & PARTNERS LTD, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 08982890, with its registered office at Kemp House, 152-160 City Road, London EC1V 2NX, England.
These terms apply to the BestCruise Athens All Day Cruise. The current carrier is Cruise In Greece, which operates the boat and crew.
The date, start time, guests, option and total shown in your booking confirmation form part of your booking. Contact [email protected] if you need help with your booking.
2. Prices and payment
Prices are per guest and depend on age category and on whether you choose the Athens transfer option. The total shown before you confirm is the total you pay for the options you selected.
Payment is taken online when you book. When the booking calendar offers a deposit (for bookings made at least 5 days ahead), you pay 30% online and the balance on the day of your cruise. If an extra charge could apply, for example a pickup outside central Athens or Piraeus, it is agreed with you before the cruise and is never added without your consent.
3. Cancellation and weather
Cancel at least 24 hours before your departure time (Athens time) for a full refund. Cancellations within 24 hours, late arrivals and no-shows are not refunded. If we cancel because of weather or sea conditions, you choose another date or a full refund.
This cancellation and refund policy takes precedence over any other wording in these terms.
The cruise depends on weather and sea conditions, port and traffic restrictions, instructions from the authorities and the safety of passengers and crew. The captain decides whether it is safe to sail.
If the cruise is cancelled before departure for these reasons, section 3 applies. If the cruise has to be cut short after departure for safety reasons, contact us and your rights under applicable consumer law apply.
4. Health, fitness and onboard safety
The cruise involves boarding a boat from a quay, moving around a deck at sea and stepping ashore at island harbours. The experience is not wheelchair accessible.
If you have a medical condition, reduced mobility or other needs that could affect your day, please tell us when you book or before the cruise so we can advise you. The captain may refuse boarding only where carrying a guest would not be safe.
If you are pregnant, we recommend asking your doctor before travelling. Guests who are 28 weeks pregnant or more should contact us before booking.
In case of illness or accident, the crew will arrange for assistance and, where needed, transfer ashore for medical care. We recommend travel insurance that covers medical care.
Please follow the safety instructions and directions of the captain and crew at all times, including when swimming.
Animals are not allowed on board, except assistance dogs.
5. Children and supervision
Guests of all ages, including infants aged 0–3, can join.
Guests under 18 must travel with a parent or guardian, who is responsible for supervising them on board, while swimming and ashore.
Children may not stay on board while their parent or guardian goes ashore.
6. Prohibited items and searches
Do not bring weapons, illegal substances, flammable or hazardous items on board.
Where there are reasonable safety grounds, the captain may ask to check bags or belongings before or during the cruise. A guest who refuses a reasonable safety check or carries prohibited items may be refused boarding or asked to disembark, without a refund.
7. Route, departure and transport changes
The changes described in this section do not limit the cancellation and weather-refund rights in section 3.
The captain may change the order of stops, the swimming location or the timings on the day for weather, sea conditions or safety. If a planned island visit cannot take place, the crew will tell you on the day, and your rights under applicable consumer law apply.
Please return to the boat at the time given by the crew at each stop. The boat cannot wait for guests who return late, and the cost of making your own way back is then your responsibility.
8. Liability and passenger responsibilities
Personal injury and loss of life
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law. Where it applies, the carrier’s liability to passengers is governed by Regulation (EC) No 392/2009 and the Athens Convention.
Personal property
Please keep valuables such as cash, jewellery, phones and cameras with you. Liability for loss of or damage to belongings follows the applicable law and the Athens Convention where it applies.
Healthcare ashore
Medical care ashore is provided by local services, which are not under our or the carrier’s control. This does not affect the crew’s duty to assist you on board.
Events outside our control
Neither we nor the carrier are responsible for failure or delay caused by events outside reasonable control, such as severe weather, strikes, port closures or orders of the authorities. Your rights in section 3 still apply.
Passenger damage and non-compliance
You are responsible for damage you cause to the boat or its equipment through your fault, and for fines imposed on the carrier because you did not follow the crew’s instructions or the law.
9. Lost property
If you lose belongings during the cruise, tell the crew as soon as possible, or contact [email protected] and we will help coordinate with the carrier.
10. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by Greek law. Disputes are heard by the courts of Piraeus, Greece. This does not remove any mandatory consumer protection or the right to bring a claim in your own country that applies to you by law.
If you have a complaint, please contact [email protected] first so we can try to resolve it.
