This notice explains what personal data is handled when you browse the BestCruise website, contact us or book the cruise, why it is used, who receives it and the rights you have.
Data controller
IBC & PARTNERS LTD, registered in England and Wales under company number 08982890 (registered office: Kemp House, 152-160 City Road, London EC1V 2NX, England), is the data controller for this website. For privacy questions, contact [email protected].
Browsing this website
The website is hosted on our server. Ordinary server logs may contain technical request information such as IP address, time, requested page and browser information. We use them to run and secure the website, on the basis of our legitimate interest in a working and secure website. Logs are kept for a limited period for security and troubleshooting and are then deleted in the hosting’s normal log rotation. There is no account registration or contact form on this website.
Optional analytics and advertising
We use Google Analytics, and Google advertising measurement, only if you allow them in Cookie settings; your consent is the legal basis, and you can withdraw it at any time. Google Tag Manager is not loaded before you make a choice, and Google Analytics stays switched off unless you allow Analytics. With your permission, we also measure booking steps: when you start using the booking calendar and, where the booking system reports it, a completed booking’s reference, value and currency. We do not include your name, email, phone number or booking-contact details in these events. Google keeps analytics data according to the retention setting of our Google Analytics property. Declining does not prevent reading this website or booking.
Bookings
Our booking calendar is provided by Bókun, which processes bookings for us. Loading the calendar or following its separate booking link contacts Bókun. Bókun may use its own cookies and analytics; our optional website choices do not control its separate settings. The one exception: if we switch on Bókun’s booking measurement for our website, it runs only after you allow Analytics in Cookie settings. When you book, we receive the details you enter: the lead guest’s name, email address and phone number, the date, guests and options booked, your pickup point if you choose the transfer, and any notes you add. Payment is processed by the payment provider shown at checkout; we do not receive your full card number.
We use booking details to provide the cruise: to confirm your booking, send practical information, arrange any pickup, pass the guest details needed to operate the cruise to our carrier, Cruise In Greece, and handle changes, cancellations and refunds. The legal basis is the performance of your booking contract. We keep booking and payment records for as long as required by tax and accounting law. If you tell us about allergies or other health needs, we use that information only to prepare for your day, with your consent.
If you book through a marketplace such as Viator, GetYourGuide or Airbnb, that platform handles your booking under its own privacy notice and shares with us the details needed to provide the cruise.
Emails and calls
When you email or call us, we use your message and contact details to answer you and, where relevant, to prepare or manage your booking. We keep this correspondence for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry or booking, and booking-related records as long as tax and accounting law requires.
Who receives your data
We share personal data only as needed for the purposes above, with: Bókun (booking system and calendar); the payment provider shown at checkout; our carrier, Cruise In Greece (guest details needed to operate the cruise); our website hosting provider (server logs); Google (analytics and advertising measurement, only after your consent) and YouTube (only if you load the video). We also disclose data where the law requires it. Links to the booking page, map, guest portal and review platforms open separate services with their own privacy information.
International transfers
Some recipients, such as Google and YouTube, may process data outside the UK and the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where this happens, the transfer relies on an adequacy decision (for example the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and its UK extension, where the recipient is certified) or on standard contractual clauses.
Optional cruise video
The video cover is hosted on this site. YouTube is contacted only when you choose to load its player or follow the external video link. YouTube then handles data under its own notices. Our optional analytics choice does not control YouTube’s separate services.
Your rights
You can ask for access to your personal data, and for it to be corrected or erased. You can also ask us to restrict its use, object to use based on our legitimate interests, and receive data you gave us in a portable format. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time; this does not affect earlier use. To exercise these rights, email [email protected].
You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority: the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (www.dpa.gr) in Greece, where the cruise takes place, or the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk), where our company is registered.
Your choices and questions
You can change your optional website choices at any time using “Cookie settings” in the footer. Analytics and advertising are separate choices; advertising controls campaign measurement and personalised advertising signals sent to Google. We remember your choice for 180 days in this browser on this website. Other websites ask separately. See the cookie information for the cookies and storage this website uses. For questions, contact [email protected]. Please do not send payment-card details by email.
