Metopi is a small, uninhabited islet in the Saronic Gulf, between Aegina and Agistri. On our day cruise it is one of three possible swim stops, with Aponisos and Moni. The crew chooses one of them each day for the weather.
About Metopi
The islet is low and almost flat, with a small chapel of the Saints Theodore and a few vineyards. On its south-eastern side there is a small beach with white sand and shallow, blue-green water.
Swimming and snorkelling
The clear water around the Saronic islets is lovely for a swim. Snorkelling gear and water noodles are on board, so you do not need to bring your own. If Metopi is the day’s stop, you swim from the boat; going ashore is not part of the cruise.
Swim safely
- Follow the crew’s instructions before you get in the water.
- Stay close to the boat, and choose a swim that suits your ability.
- Do not touch or disturb marine life.
- Wear sun protection and a hat on deck.
When to go
Our cruise runs daily from April to October. The sea is warmest in July and August. In spring and autumn the water is cooler and the days are milder.
The rest of the day
The cruise leaves Marina Zeas in Piraeus at 09:00 and returns around 19:00. You get free time ashore on Agistri and Aegina, one swim stop at Aponisos, Moni or Metopi chosen by the crew for the weather, a Greek lunch, and unlimited beer, wine and soft drinks.
